Mr Gareth Thomas (MP)
I worked at Mr Gareth Thomas' office just before going off to uni. Over my week there I was able to write a range of political pieces such as op-eds and policy responses. I also was tasked with gathering data for various bills and motions that Mr Thomas was proposing. This exposed me to a fast-paced, chaotic but professional environment where I cemented my love and interest in politics.

Les Philosophes Secretary
At my school, I earned the position of Secretary of an elite academic group where I helped organise lectures from significant academics and dignitaries. This included a visit from the (then) US Ambassador Matthew Barzun, Joanne Trollope and a workshop from 'Solutions Not Sides'. This was fundamental in exposing me to a range of political opinions and many successful people from a variety of career paths.

'Ripple Africa' Volunteer in Malawi
Over the summer, I spent three weeks in Malawi volunteering for the charity 'Ripple Africa'. There I was part of a team responsible for building toilets and foundations for a school, teaching at a secondary and primary school and installing safer fireplaces in local homes. This experience opened my eyes to the devastating effects of poverty, particularly the medical limitations.
